Caption |
Fern Sawyer was well-known as the first woman to win the National Cutting Horse Championship in 1945, along with several other rodeo wins. She was also well-known for her vast and outrageous wardrobe. This suit was designed by Nathan Turk. Turk was one of the master tailors of Hollywood for 50 years. He was born in Poland in 1895 and immigrated to America after apprenticing with a tailor in Warsaw. He offered off-the-rack and custom pieces for the likes of many singers and actors, such as Tom Mix, Gene Autry, and Buck Owens. |
