Description |
Bi-fold paper rodeo program. Front cover has black printing at top, "1948 2nd Annual Championship / TRI-STATE ALL GIRL / RODEO" with an image of a cowgirl on a bucking bronc printed below in the middle of the cover. Below the cowgirl, in the bottom quarter of the front is printed, "FAIR GROUNDS / AMARILLO, TEXAS / October 4th, 5th, 6th-- Night 7th, 1948 / SPONSORED BY / TRI-STATE FAIR, Inc. / PRICE 10c." Interior is printed with events and contestants for Wednesday, October 6th and a list of the championship prizes. Some of the contestants's times have been written in pencil. The back of the program is printed with a list of the contestants. |

This program from the 2nd Annual Tri-State Fair Rodeo is from the first year of the All Girls Rodeo Association. The GRA was founded in February 1948 after the frist successful Tri-State Fair Rodeo was organized by Nancy Binford and Thena Mae Farr. |
