Description |
Black felt cowboy hat with flat brim. Black felt hatband with silver buckle and six diamond shaped silver embellishments attached. Interior has satin and plastic lining. The lining at the crown as the golden image of a cowgirl on a bucking bronc. The black leather sweatband is stamped with gold lettering on one side "Kirkpatrick / Custom Hatters / Wisdom, Montana" and on the other side "CUSTOM MADE FOR / FERN SAWYER." |

Custom made for Fern Sawyer by Sheila Kirkpatrick, this black felt hat is embellished with a silver buckled hatband. Kirkpatrick opened her own hat shop in 1983 named "Kirkpatrick Custom Hatters." Years later, after selling her first business to focus on the ranch, she opened another highly successful hat-making business, "Montana Mad Hatters." Dignitaries and celebrities alike have worn Kirkpatrick’s hats, including Hank Williams, Jr. and George Bush, Sr. |
